Intuit’s AI announcement:
Make it stand out
Whatever it is, the way you tell your story online can make all the difference.
The most interesting thing about Intuit’s AI announcement wasn’t the Ai…
Something unexpected stood out to me…
Technology wasn’t getting the attention.
Responsibility was.
Nearly every principle pointed back to the same ideas.
Ownership
Privacy
No shared economic incentives
The technical hurdles aren’t the hardest part to overcome.
Intuit isn’t saying, “Look how powerful our Ai systems are.”
They’re saying “Look how seriously we take the responsibility.”
You see, human expertise carries something automation doesn’t.
The “weight” of responsibility.
Your car breaks down, you don’t hold the car responsible - the mechanic, or manufacturer are liable.
If OpenAi or Claude hallucinates or makes a mistake, who’s liable?
If it misses a tax exemption or payroll, that leads to an audit.
An audit becomes financial stress.
Financial stress doesn’t stay at work,
It follows you home.
Into your family time.
Into the very business you’ve poured years of your life into.
A business that has helped shape who you are.
At that point, it’s personal.
It’s not just 1’s and 0’s on a spreadsheet…
it’s an emotional consequence that could be life-altering.
The more I think about it, Intuit isn’t just introducing AI to finance.
It’s trying to redefine what trustworthy judgement looks like when judgement is automated.
Because the most difficult challenge of financial AI isn’t the technical systems people can use.
It’s building systems people can trust to carry the weight of responsibility.
